A Spartanburg County man has died after he was shot at a birthday party in Pacolet.

An accident involving a tractor-trailer Tuesday morning closed all three southbound lanes of Interstate 85 near Highway 14 for more than 30 minutes, snarling traffic.

Sam Harold Smith, 66, of 106 Prince Circle, Greer, has been charged with first degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor under the age of 11, according to a warrant.
